尊敬的客戶和朋友，
我們又再次渡過了一年，如果你想知道為甚麼會收到這封信，要不是你前一年剛剛成為我的客戶，或者你扔掉了我過去7年的每封年度信。每年七月，我都會寫信給我現有的客戶，告訴你我還活著（在這個行業）和分享過去一年的人生經歷。
這封年度信是遲來了，因為今年對於我是忙碌的一年，我在今年三月八日結婚（你們有些人參加了我的婚禮），然後五月去了歐洲度蜜月3個星期，我想在這裡特別感謝我的商業客戶土耳其航空公司，他們友善地給了我跟太太一個特殊安排，讓我們通過土耳其飛到英國，而且在伊斯坦堡有為期一天的免費觀光團。土耳其位於的三大洲（歐洲，非洲和亞洲）的中心並作為「樞紐」，伊斯坦布爾是一個迷人的城市，這是我們第一次體驗到她豐富的歷史和文化。土耳其航空公司已經連續五年榮獲Skytrax「歐洲最佳航空公司」的獎項，他們的座椅比我坐過的其他航空公司更寬，食物更好，不得不說令人印象深刻。
我和妻子前往了英國，丹麥和瑞典度蜜月，這是我於2007年大學畢業後，第一次回到英國，所以我很高興能再次訪問在英國的中學，大學和朋友，這次旅程帶給我很多回憶，而且驚呀看到那邊的改變。
我在2008年7月加入宏利，老實說，我沒想過我會在這裡待這麼長的時間。我覺得我喜歡這份工作的主要原因是靈活性和自由度，這很適合我的個性，但最重要的是，我親眼目睹了保險如何幫助了很多人，而客戶對我的信任，也是我繼續作為保險代理人的關鍵原因，現在我的客戶中大約60％是朋友和家人，20％是公司或企業，而剩下的客戶是通過其他聯繫結識的，我相信這數字會隨著時間增長。
上年我處理最大一宗的索賠是一位女士，她在2014年需要進行重大手術，醫療總費用為廿一萬港元，這是我處理過最大宗的醫療索賠，手術後她幾乎不能走路，看到她在數週就可以恢復體力，讓我感受到保險真的可以幫助一個病人康復，特別是她不需為金錢擔心時，一個普通中產，廿一萬可能是負擔得起的，但它仍然是一筆大數目，但對於一些低收入家庭，它會成為一個巨大的負擔。
最後我想談點投資，我和我的妻子有一個私人笑話：每次妻子（之前是女友）跟我一起去旅行，股市一定下跌，所以今次我變得聰明，為了可以好好享受我的蜜月，我在五月中旬已經出售了我的大部分股票套利，現在大家都知道之後發生了甚麼事，哈哈。但正如巴菲特說：「你要在別人恐懼時貪婪」，今次香港股市的重大調整是一個很好的機會投資，H股的估值實在是太便宜了，如果你有多餘的錢，購買一些黃金或石油相關的股票，然後去睡覺，你在未來3 - 5年就會變得很開心。今年就是這些話，祝大家有一個美好的來年！

Once again we have passed another year, if you are wondering why you got a letter from me, it is either you have just become my insurance client in the previous year, or you have thrown away my last 7 annual letters. Every July I will write a letter to my existing clients, telling you I am still alive (in this industry) and share my life experience in general.
This annual letter came a bit late this year since it was a busy year for me, I got married on the 8th of March (some of you have attended my wedding), then I went to Europe for honeymoon for 3 weeks in May, I would like to give a special thanks to my business client Turkish Airlines here, they are kind enough to arrange a special package for me and my wife, allow us flied to England through Turkey with a one day free tour in Istanbul. Turkey is located in the middle of the 3 continents (Europe, Africa and Asia) and act as a “hub”, Istanbul is a fascinating city, and it was our first time to experience her rich history and culture. Turkish Airlines won the Skytrax awards for Europe's Best Airline for five years in a row, their seat is wider, and the food is better than rest of the airlines I have travelled with, got to say I am impressed.
My wife and I travelled to UK, Denmark and Sweden for our honeymoon, it was my first time back to UK after my graduation in 2007, so I am very happy to revisit my college, university and many friends in UK, it brings back a lot of memories and it is amazing to see how things have changed over there.
I have joined Manulife in July 2008, honestly I didn’t think I could last this long here. I feel the major reason why I like this job is the flexibility and freedom, it fits my character, but most importantly, the cases I witness how insurance have helped a lot of people and the trust I get from the clients around me are the key reasons why I continue to work as an insurance agent, now roughly 60% of my clients are friends and family, 20% are companies or corporation, and the remaining of you were through others connection, which I believe the figure will grow over time.
The largest claim I had last year is from a lady who had a major operation in 2014, the total medical expense is 210k Hong Kong dollar, it is the biggest medical claim I have ever dealt with, she could barely walk after the operation, to see her regain her strength in weeks make me feel how much it helps when a patient doesn’t have to worry about the money, for an average middle class, 210k might be affordable but it is still a large sum, but for some low income family, it would have become a huge burden.
Lastly I would like to talk a little bit about investment, me and my wife have an inside joke: every time my wife (previously girlfriend) traveled with me, the stock market must fall, so I have become smarter this time, in order to for me to enjoy the honeymoon, I have taken profit and sold most of my shares in mid-May, everyone now knows what happened afterward, haha. But as Warren Buffett said: “You want to be greedy when others are fearful”, the major market correction in Hong Kong is a very good chance to invest now, the valuation of H-shares are way too cheap, if you have extra money, buy some gold or oil related stock then go to sleep, you will become very happy in the next 3-5 years.
